TRACE is a mobile application created to foster a brighter and more gender-affirming future for transgender and non-binary individuals.

About us

The premise of TRACE was simple. Create an easy-to-use application for folks in transition to better track their journey. To transition is to continually strive to be your most authentic self. We wanted to build a place not only to celebrate you, but to assist with tracking the many dates and possible events related to your transition. While we know this process has been done for decades without a space like TRACE, what we saw in TRACE was a streamlined experience that was guaranteed to make tracking one’s transition easier and more enjoyable.

Owned and operated by transgender folks, TRACE seeks to provide those in transition, the safest place to document and celebrate their journey among a trusted community of allies.

As we began development, we realized there was more we could be doing for our community on TRACE. Studies have shown, when a trans or nonbinary person has even one supportive individual in their life, their self-worth increases, and suicide attempts decrease. Adding a community element to TRACE would allow for allies of those in transition to do what allies do best, show others love and support to those in transition, and ultimately help to make the journey more exciting!

That’s when TRACE was no longer about ONLY tracking transitions. It became a place where those in transition can SHARE their experience and be affirmed and supported by their community. On TRACE anyone can be an ally to anyone else, and it is through supporting all allies along with TRACERs that we believe we can foster the ultimate experience for our transitioning users.

TRACER

A TRACER is anyone who is tracking a transition. Our app is the only application that helps document your transition and connect with your Allies.

Transitioning is a powerful and beautiful process, you shouldn’t miss it!

ALLY

TRACE is dedicated to helping Allies better connect to the community by providing resources and reminders for their transitioning friends & family. We encourage Allies to build their own support systems within TRACE.

Showing up for your loved one is a life-saving act.

What Community Members Are Saying

“I’ve almost entirely stopped posting on Twitter due to trolls and Instagram due to the frequent takedown of transbodies images. I’ve lost so many postings. I don’t really share anything indiscreet or overly sexualized, but it is blantantly and bluntly me as a queer man. I’m very hopeful for TRACE.”

— Taylor H.

“Trace has given me a platform to connect with people like me. I have not let many people in on my journey because I haven’t felt safe enough which can be lonely. However, trace has taken away some of the loneliness and has allowed me to connect with people that I feel safe with. So thank you for changing my life and helping me.”

— Anonymous

“As a Transgender therapist who specializes in gender affirming care, I know the importance of having a safe space to connect with others and track your own journey. The TRACE app is life changing for people who may not have that support in their day to day lives.”

— Kellan L. MSW, LISW

There isn’t a trans moment. ... It’s just a presence where there was an absence. We deserve so much more.
